An abbreviated set of examples of the administration lying about the cause of the Reflecting Pool issues, calling those arrested "sick" and "deranged", and doubling down even after cases had been dismissed when the truth surfaced.
Karoline Leavitt calls those arrested 'deranged leftist individuals' without evidence (begins at 1:56):
Trump doubles down despite no proof of vandalism once pool drained:
Post arrest, prior to dismissal: The DOI already knew at this point the cosmetics performed on the Reflecting Pool were flawed. Despite that, the highest office in the world called those of us wrongfully arrested as "deranged vandals".
Report showing the contrast between Trump calling for release and restitution for those found guilty and imprisoned over the Capitol events, January 6th, and damage to the Reflecting Pool where he calls for up to 10 years in jail, and fines.
Trump states 'sick people' tried to do as much damage as possible with knives to the Reflecting Pool. Two days after the arrests, after the administration knew the cosmetics performed were faulty.
False claims that Trump has proof of damage to the pool.
Burgum joins the lies stating damage to the Pool was vandalism. He knew definitively at this point from his own employees the pool was disintegrating as was shown later in Pirro's move to dismiss the cases.
Kevin Lilly contributes to the lies when questioned by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse. At a minimum he doesn't understand the majority of law enforcement involved in the arrests were not US Park Police but law enforcement officers from all over. In my case, US Marshal from Montana and law enforcement from Oklahoma. It was only once I reached the holding area I was with, to my knowledge, US Park Police.
Even post dismissal Trump doubles down:
